“Birds” is a site-specific  performance created for Hull Dance Festival  TRansgressions (UK) and performed in the car parking. Further it was presented in Lithuanian in different places as a site responsive work during various festivals.

Using butoh dance techniques and images of birds stuck in oil as well as electronic music created especially for the piece by  Phil Von, Okarukas creates an apocalyptic vision of the future addressing the insatiable appetite of our contemporary consumer society and its impact on the environment.

This choreography was created for 4 dancers and 3 cars.

As a pilot version “Birds” perfromance with 4 dancers was  created and performed in situ at Vilnius Academy of Arts “Krematorium” space.
